AGW was established in 1989 by Martin Weik with its primary focus to satisfy the rolling door security concerns of the Commercial, Multi-Family Residential, Corporate Parking and Building Management industry. A team of door experts have been assembled who are all highly skilled in both the electrical and mechanical aspects of rolling doors, rolling grilles, rolling fire doors, swing and slide gates, crash gates, traffic gates, and tiger teeth systems.
AGW recognizes and acknowledges the immediate security and operational requirements Commercial Buildings and Parking Managers have in regards to their perimeter parking and loading dock rolling doors.
This recognition was forged in the 1970™ when AGW™ founder and president Martin H. Weik III became a licensed 3rd class steam operating engineer (DC) working for HG Smithy and later Cafritz Company at the Watergate complex, Foxhall Condo™ and other projects while attending engineering classes at GW. It was during that period AGW™ president and founder began designing and building custom parking garage door controllers and learning the basics of the rolling door industry. Since then we have become an innovative force in the industry with four patents and several pending.
